Claire Peoples

Claire Peoples is a ballet and contemporary dance artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work spans both ballet and contemporary dance, with professional performance experience across the United States.

Most recently, Claire spent four seasons with New Mexico Ballet Company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Under the direction of Anna Bridge and Kelly Ruggiero, she performed a diverse repertoire of classical and contemporary works, including featured roles in The Wizard of Oz Ballet, The Great Gatsby, Aladdin & The Magic Lamp, and multiple productions of The Nutcracker. Prior to joining New Mexico Ballet Company, she trained with Boston Dance Theater under the artistic direction of Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and danced with Confluence Ballet Company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she performed both classical and contemporary repertoire, including Les Sylphides and The Nutcracker Sweet.

A native of Roswell, Georgia, Claire began her training under the direction of Charlotte Foster Williamson at Atlanta Dance Central and furthered her studies through Sideways Contemporary Dance Company, the Joffrey Ballet School, and Nashville Ballet. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Georgia, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2020 and receiving a Presidential Award of Excellence. During her time at UGA, she performed with the contemporary African ensemble CADE:NCE and ballet company Dance Repertory Project, touring nationally and internationally, and attended the American Dance Festival on full scholarship.

Claire is also an experienced educator who has taught dancers of all ages in both recreational and competition settings. Her teaching emphasizes strong technical foundations, artistic expression, and a lifelong appreciation for movement. As a choreographer, she enjoys creating work that blends ballet and contemporary movement, musicality, and storytelling.

After returning to her hometown of Atlanta in 2026, Peoples is continuing to pursue opportunities in performance, teaching, choreography, and artistic collaboration.
